Description

At Santo Tirso Municipality, the entrepreneurship and employment is a priority, including young people groups. The IMoD Fashion and Design Incubator at the Fábrica de Santo Thyrso is a regional reference and a unique equipment for the promotion and growth of projects in the area of fashion, design and other creative industries.

Santo Tirso is an historical country with about 70 thousand inhabitants, located in the north of Portugal, 25 km away from Oporto, and in the Ave Valley Region, the heart of the Portuguese textile industry. INVEST Santo Tirso is the Municipal Division in the charge to implement projects in the area of Cultural and Creative Setor, Economic Development and Young Entrepreneurship.

The support to young people has been worked, in several projects (AYCH, Santo Tirso Empreende, CREATEX, others), and is one of the priorities of the Municipality of Santo Tirso.

As an Economic Dynamization Office, INVEST Santo Tirso has the following lines of action:
– Dynamization of “Fábrica Santo Tirso” HUB, as a Pole of Fashion, Design, Cultural and Creative Activities and
Industries;
– Member of ACTE, Association of European Textile Collectivities;
– Dynamization of Business Reception Areas;
– Selective actions in the fields of Cultural and Creative Industries;
– Dynamization of Rural Development;
– Enhancing Young Entrepreneurship;
– Support the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem (companies, entrepreneurs, startups and stakeholders).
“Fábrica Santo Thyrso” HUB is a Pole of Fashion, Design and Activities, Cultural and Creative Industries, composed by:
– Cultural and Industrial Nave, space for events;
– Business and Innovation Center, a business space with important synergies in the fashion industry;
– Incubator of Fashion and Design, space of incubation of creative projects;
– Laboratories (Dressmaking Fab Lab; Modeling CAD Fab Lab, Stamping Fab Lab);
– Interpretive Center of the Textile Industry of Vale do Ave, memory core of the factory;
– Alberto Carneiro Arts Center.
